I am from Florida. I was hoping to take the family for some New England camping. COVID likely stop me from this summer. Any campsites or must see that you have been? Camps to avoid? We will stop on the way and camp to.
Definitely want to be fairly close to ocean. I've never been to Maine and have to get a lobster roll or two.

How long will you be in New England ? I agree the coast of Maine will be a must see. I would probably stay very close to Acadia National Park. We also love the area around North Conway, NH. Not near the ocean, but incredibly scenic.

Maine is a must see. Route 1 to Acadia.
New Hampshire white mountains and Hampton beach.
    Rhode Island. Newport
I would avoid I95 thru NJ. NY. CT. And Boston
