Here's a link to a few pictures of the new peel and stick floor that I put in the Cherry Pit earlier this week. The first four pictures are of the before flooring and the last four pictures are of the new floor. Please let me know what you think of the before and after results. The tiles are from the Crystal series available at Lowes for $.88 per 12" x 12" tile. In total, I've got less than $40 invested in the new floor and I think it made a world of difference in the PUP's interior appearance! Here's the link to the pictures:

Floor looks great!!! Makes me want to upgrade our flooring. Did you take up the old floor or just put those down overtop?

Looks great! I bet the new color and pattern will hide the dirt on a trip better, too!

We just got back from a trip to MirrorLake in WI, near the dells, and the whole camper is just FULL of sand! And it rained one night, so we had mud, too. I tried, but there was no keeping up with all the sand inside!

did you get some 'extras' so that if you damage one or two, you can replace them easily? that's what I'd do! usually those tiles are heavier tile than the sheet goods used in most campers, so they should wear better, too.

    I love the color!

Nice job, Don. The new floor looks great. Updates the look of the interior, too.

Thanks everyone for the compliments, I really do appreciate them. To answer your questions: First Jenn, no I didn't remove the old floor, just cleaned it really well with simple green and then applied the new floor right over top of it. The old floor was put down as a single piece by the manufacturer and extended under all the cabinents and storage areas and would have required the removal of all those first...a task I saw as too much effort for the reward. I've put these type tiles over other floors inside the house without problem so I figured it would be ok here too. Second Scoutermom, yes, I do have a few extra tiles and also kept all the trim pieces to be used for possible patching and replacement in the future. However, the tiles are also available as singles at lowes for $88 each.

Mercman, you are very observant, I was wondering if anyone would notice the "Cherry" air freshener in the "Cherry Pit"!

Great job. We actually used that same floor covering in the kitchen and baths of a house we sold a couple of years ago.

    It looks great. Nice Job!

Gosh, I was happy with my PUP until I've seen the updates on here of new floors, new fabric on cushions and painted cabinets.

    This site is amazing!

Thanks sewserious and jenmel. Jenmel, we are nothing here if we aren't great tinkerers...lol! I get as much pleasure out of tinkering with my PUP as I do actually camping in it and it gives me something to do between trips which don't happen nearly as frequently as we'd like!

The Cherry Pit looks great. I really like the floor tile. I think it's the same tile we used when we remodeled our bathroom last year. Nice stuff!

Your new floor looks a lot like the flooring in our 2 year old pop up. We have since discovered that it is indeed very good at maintaining a clean appearance despite campground sand and dirt. Nice job. (and yes, the cherries gave me a chuckle).

Looks great, Don! We installed that same tile in our kitchen and downstairs bath a few years ago. It's held up very well.

Looks GREAT! Definitely made it look a lot newer! Heck, my 04 has one similar to your first one! Great work, I hope it holds up to the temperature changes!
