Hi from Minnesota! I have been tent camping for quite awhile but would like to move up to a pop-up camper, so I have been looking at some for sale on-line. I can't afford much but am hoping I can find a small one at an affordable price before next summer. I would just be using it for myself. I have a Jeep to pull it with, so no problem there. I have gotten tired of all the packing and unpacking involved with tent camping and would rather have something I can store a lot of my camping stuff in all summer so I can just load up some clothes and food and hit the road. Also would be nice to be able to cook, eat and hang out inside when the weather isn't so nice! I have lots of questions and will post those in the appropriate threads. Thanks! Barbie
Welcome from the Texas Gulf Coast! You'll find answers to every question you can imagine, and some you can't. Help will come from all over on any subject. You'll likely have your camper and be well prepared for the first weekend of the season!
Welcome from a fellow Minnesotan who became a pup-er last May, also after 15+ years of tent camping (which I still occasionally do)
Greetings from St. Paul, MN. We are former tent campers too. What part of MN are you from? DH has mobility issues, so I do most of the set up myself. The hardest part is putting the door on. Our's has an awning, and it's even difficult for the 2 of us to put on.
Welcome from Texas. Your in for a great. Allot of wisdom is shared here. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Welcome from west-central wisconsin!!! grab some coffee and pull up a chair!! you will find some great people here with tons of great ideas and information on PUP camping! Feel free to ask if you have questions because someone will have an answer. Happy camping and good luck on finding a PUP
Welcome to the forum, from another fellow Minnesotan. Northwest suburbs of the Twin Cities is our home base. Wishing you good luck in your search for the right popup! We still have our tents too, but I honestly don't know when I would ever choose to camp that way again when the pup is an option.
Welcome to the portal Barbie!!! I hope you find you a good camper at a decent price. I Know you said your waiting for summer to by one but you may could get a better deal if you could fine one this time of the year. Generally I have found cheaper prices in the fall and winter and higher prices in the spring and summer!! Either way good luck and if you have any questions please ask! There are so many helpful people on the forum!!
Welcome from Wisconsin!! Pull up a chair and a cup of coffee...there are tons of threads to help you make your decision on a PUP over the winter!!!
Welcome from another Minnesotan who still 'tents-it' once in a while. Winter is a great time to visit RV dealers to see what's out there. Dealers of small campers and teardrops (like Elk River RV) are very helpful and can advise how much weight your Jeep can pull. If you do find a nice small camper online, be prepared to jump on it like a duck on a june bug. They sell fast!
Thanks for all the welcoming replies! I live on Lake Minnetonka on the west side of the Twin Cities. Am currently looking at a little 1992 Coleman Destiny PUP. There are actually two of them on CL right now. Both of them look to be in excellent condition and are both asking $1000. May go look at one of them on Friday if it isn't snowing too bad.
