We just bought a 1999 Coleman Baysider with one slide out, and it's... rough. Rougher than I thought it was, but that's okay. We got it for $800 and if I only gut the thing and resell it for $1200, we'll still come out ahead, BUT... That's not my plan. First, we are going to open it up this weekend, and take complete stock, including hitting it up with a moisture detector. What we *know* so far: The good: Price- Super cheap. Towing- tows straight Hitch- Got a free hitch out of the deal Propane- One tank included, but the plastic seat is...jacked. Batter tray- is there? Husband- totally on board with my crazy schemes. The bad: The front storage box- No lid, water damage to the particle board between the front box and the main cabin box. Water tanks- Unknown. Need cleaning and sterilization if nothing else but I'm kinda side-eying 20+ year old tanks... Roof- Supposedly no leaks, but... I don't think I buy that. Well, I mean, we bought it, but ... you know... Sidewalls- some cosmetic damage but no obvious soft spots. Lots of mud, though. Tires- Yeah, we're just gonna jack this puppy up and take the wheels to Discount Tire. Then, we can clean and repack bearings/axles. Maybe get new rims? The dinette- the table is out finding itself, I think. I expect it to come back a Buddhist or maybe just find its way to Canada or something. Who knows. The ugly: The whole damn thing, really. Anyway, nice to meet you all!
