Hi everyone! I'm Kathleen, and I just bought my first PUP (first RV of any kind, actually!). I'm thrilled to own a little piece of PUP history, and so excited to have found this group. With my 1979 Bethany Compact 560, and being a single woman, I'm sure I'm going to need lots and lots of advice!

Please share photos! I love the vintage campers. My dh is scared I will start collecting them like sewing machines, lol.

I am a newbie also (not new to camping) and the people here are so kind and open with advice. I have learned an amazing amount in the short time I have been here. Don't be afraid to use private message with questions either. Very giving people and great community.

I'd love to come to the Rally, but I don't know if my TV will be ready yet. I did see that site #40 is still available. I'd love to go, and it would be the maiden voyage with my lil Bethany! Let me see what I can get done this weekend, and see if I can get it all together. [:D]

Lovely! Would love to see it popped up! Nice and compact (as the name would indicate lol). We have a small TV so weight is a huge consideration and made our choice for us so to speak.

edited: if that is your TV beside the PUP, you should be good to go!

For a 34 year old pop up, I think she's pretty awesome! I just found another Compact 560 for sale in my area. I may have to go take a look and see if I got my money's worth!

Beautiful! I love her! She's in great shape. Are you planning any renovations on the inside (though I don't really see a need, even the original flooring looks better than ours, now "wood" linoleum which is lovely compared to what was there, which you can see when you open the bottom storage).

    Congrats again! Have fun!

BTW, my dad's birthday gift to me was a trailer hitch on our Subaru ;)

Oh, and if you are an anthropologie fan, those knobs can be spiced up and add a little something to the inside. It's a weakness of mine.

Are the bunks both doubles? How much does she weigh? SUPER cute!

I haven't decided if I want to keep it all original, or if I want to renovate it. I like the charm of the late 70's fabrics and even the crazy colors, but I'd also love to paint her and make her mine. I'm an artist and work at an art school, so I have a ton of ideas and access to tools. I just don't know if I want to change something that's still so intact. I want to take her out a few times and see how I feel.

Yes, the bunks are both doubles, and the dinette turns into a bed, so it's supposed to sleep 6, but I can't imagine ever wanting to fit that many people in my lil PUP! At the moment, it's just me and the dog. I suppose I could also start bringing my parrot camping now too!

The manual from 1979 (http://www.popupcamperhistory.com/bethany1979brochure.html#) says she weighs in (dry) at 1037 lbs. Perfect for my little 4 cyl Toyota Tacoma. [;)]
