Ok Ladies and Gents, its a pleasure to be here and introduce mysefl. I am Josh and My Wife and I just bought our first pop up camper at the beginning of the month for our family to get out and relax. it was a great condition 1996 jayco eagle 12'. I say was because after three days of ownership I was rear ended taking it to my mother-in-law's house. The Camper is now under construction.

Hello and welcome from central PA and I am so sorry that this happened to you. I hope everyone involved in the accident was ok. The camper can be fixed and if not replaced, but time in the hospital can never be replaced!

Welcome from Dukes Fl. sad to see how badly the damage was to the pup. Sounds like no one was hurt. Good Luck if you decide to repair it.

    Hello and welcome from Minnesota!

IMHO...it's totaled. Go after the insurance from the person that hit you. Take the money (at a minimum for what you paid for it) and buy another one.

In a rear end collision, you can call the shots. Does not matter if you have insurance on the pup or not. The person that hit you is 100% responsible for any damages whether it is another car, building, trailer...whatever they hit.

Was your vehicle also damage at all? I would also recommend that you either get your vehicle's trailer hitch either thoroughly examined or demand that it is replace with another. The collision could have caused fracturing of the hitch welds. Even the slightest weld fracture could eventually cause the weld to fail. I know. I've seen it on one of my father-in-law's vehicles about 10 years ago.

When I was rear ended a few years ago directly on my receiver hitch (not while towing), I had the entire hitch replace on their Nickle. The other guys insurance argued, but lost because their hand were tied.

Welcome to the Portal from Burlington, Ontario! Very sorry to see that your new-to-you pop-up is so badly damaged. Hope you get the pup repaired or replaced soon, and at the other driver's (or insurance company's) expense.

Welcome ! Ouch. I agree with insurance funding that damage. I would think the bed pushed in and damage inside. I guess if it's not that bad on inside and insurance is not a option. you could pull off that section and rebuild with wood and Some sort of aluminum siding/sheet metal over wood. Or buy a parts one.

What have you done so far?

I/We always like pictures of work in progress on PUP : )
