I just realized I bought this exactly 3 years after buying the MW!!! Wow!!

So this is my next project. I have had this idea for a long time, especially for the ease of popping up for a quick nap on a long road trip!! And this was well well below the typical market value and got it for well below my stupid price was. The guy was happy to sell it and deliver it for $450!!

It will either go on a trailer or add an axle to this....

I will also gut all the storage inside as that is not needed and I need to cut weight. Those 'roof racks' will go also.

My back is not good and the Montgomery Ward is a little bit more stretching and more than I can handle if I throw my back out while camping or packing up. This will be relatively easy no matter the issues.

Good luck with the project. My suspicion (not being an engineer, though) is that it isn't designed to go directly on an axle, since the bed of the truck it was designed to slide into would provide support.
Does the door go full height? I watched an elderly couple semi-crawl in and out of a similar one, since the door stayed the same height when it was set up. My bad back ached at the thought.

I have seen several slide in's mounted on a trailer and they seemed to work ok. As for an axle under the unit, I would not recommend this as the frame on the bottom of the unit is made for support from the TV and probably would not hold up very well (my opinion) looks like you got a good deal either way. Good Luck with the project

I wouldn't mount an axle directly to the bottom. I would add a 2x3in tube frame. But there is already a heavy metal frame in this camper.

The door does have a top portion that attaches to the rest when open.
