    I bought a 1994 Scamper to be mounted on my 2007 Tundra. The Tundra has a 150 amp alternator and needs to be wired for a camper battery. Any suggestions about what cabling to use, what isolation solenoid etc, would be most appreciated. Also, where is the best place to position the battery in the camper? Anyone have a wiring diagram of the camper wiring to include the clearance and interior lights?

    If I was to run a charge line I would use 10 gauge wire and a simple heavy duty solenoid (controlled by the truck ignition key).
    I have never been satisfied with the any charge line output .... the tow vehicles own battery seems to control the alternator output ....... you will get some charge, but to me never enough.

    As for your wiring ...... how many wires do you have and what kind of plug.

    Welcome from NM. There are so many great places to camp in your section of CO, it's one of our regular destinations.

    Waste of time, your truck's electrical system which is designed to maintain it's starting battery will never full recharge a deep cycle battery in any reasonable amount of time. However, there is a solution - install a DC > DC charger, such as the CTEK D250SA which is purpose designed to maintain a deep cycle battery using a vehicle's electrical system.

    Hi everyone, I'm not sure if I've introduced myself in the past. If so, I apologize for doing it again. Like so many other people in this forum, I too inherited a trailer and can not find the serial #. I live on Long Island and grew up camping in this trailer every summer. It hasn't been registered since 1994 but is still in great condition. I would sure love to be able to put this back on the road. Like everyone else with this problem, I would really like to hear from anyone who has found it!!! Thank you in advance!!!
