My wife and have been planning on getting a popup next summer and have been looking around to see what options there are and what we like. A smaller local RV dealership that doesn’t normally carry popups, had someone trade in a 2016 Forest River Freedom 2280BH. They didn’t want to store it for the winter, so they lowered there asking price quite a bit. After my wife and I checked it out, the salesman did his normal pitch of “what would it take for you to buy this today?” It was in great condition, but there are cons of buying a popup this late into the year. So I threw out a price almost 25% less then what they were asking. Thinking he would come back and negotiate, I was honestly surprised when the manager accepted the offer. So yesterday we brought it home. I wanted to at least try it out before we covered it the winter. So last night, the family did some driveway camping. Even though it was 22° F last night, the furnace and heated mattresses kept everyone warm. It’s now covered as we expecting our first significant snowstorm of the year tonight. I can’t wait until weather warms up in next year to take it out in a full camping experience.

We did the same thing, buying right before winter. The only con is now you have to day dream all winter about camping knowing that you have your camper.

Congrats on your new to you camper. I bought my camper just before Xmas and had to drive it straight to winter storage lot. Made for an awful long winter. [V][:>(]. Although it was the best time to purchase as I got a great deal

That’s for sure. Since we’ve purchased it, I’ve seen the exact same PUP for sale for almost 2 1/2 times what we paid for it.

worst part of the year is when it's time to put her away for the winter. My DW can always tell how long of a winter it's going to be by the number of "hypothetical" trips I plan for the next season :)

Congrats on your NTU pup! Sounds like you got a great deal!
