Bought a new TV yesterday to replace our Dakota. It's been a good truck but after 11 years and 193K it's time. Kids are growing and the backseat's pretty tight for them on long drives. The new TV is a 2013 Ram 1500 Outdoorsman that has lots of goodies added. Been looking off and on since Oct. and the year-end sale was just too good to pass up, little over $9K off MSRP. Tow ratings more than enough at 8550# which gives us plenty of cushion if we ever upgrade to a HTT.

Congrats on the Ram. I have an '03 1500 and have yet to be disappointed.

    Congrats and enjoy!

It won't be as easy to fit into a parking place as the Dakota. [;)]

You got that right. Dakota's basically like a big car with great visability. The 1500 has longer length, wheelbase, wider, and sits a lot higher. At least I didn't get the long bed version. Hope the backup camera lives up to my expectations.

Oooh, with the Laramie you got ALL the bells and whistles. Very nice truck.

Actually surprised I went with the RAM because I'm kind of a Ford guy. I've got 3 F-250s for work and love 'em. They are a great work truck. But the Ram is my daily driver and has a comfort level that beats all the competition IMHO.

When I set out to buy a truck I was pretty sure it would be a GMC. I'd always been biased against Chrysler so a RAM never even entered my mind. I went to the Seattle auto show to check everything and was blown away by the difference between the RAM and everything else -- absolutely the most comfortable cab and ride. I liked the interior layout best and also loved the fact that I could get in the back seat via regular doors instead of the "suicide" doors (where you have to open the front door first to get the latch for the back door) that the competitors had. I keep my photo equipment back there and go in and out a gazillion times a day. The back seat (this is the extended cab, which RAM calls "Quad," not the full "Crew" cab) was also the biggest of the extended cabs. I couldn't believe it but I decided that a RAM was the thing for me and have been extremely pleased ever since.

Congrats on new TV. If you don't already have one I would suggest an adjustable ball mount as you are going to need a 4 to 5 inch drop to pull that PUP level.
I average about 17mpg when my UTAH is following me :)

Congrats on the new tow vehicle. Some good deals to be had at the end of the year with dealers wanting to bet another unit out the door. Post some pics of this new ride [8D]

Already have a B&W adjustable tri-ball mount. 5" drop. Has worked great with the Dakota. Never searching for the right ball.

Wish I could but truck's still at dealers waiting on the brake controller and dash parts they need to install new controller. Hope to get on Mon/Tues. Besides, don't have a pic web hosting site yet. Really should do that this winter.

Here's the linkto the truck although I don't know how long it'll be before it's wiped from inventory.

They call it "True Blue Pearlcoat" which is basically an irridescent dark blue which was my 2nd choice. Preferred the dark cherry red pearlcoat but it was one of the compromises I had to make to get as close as possible to what I would have gotten if I had ordered it. But based on the other trucks' pricing I looked at, I got the bedliner and sidestep for free. Saved me @$1K if I had to do it aftermarket.
