Well, with the camper put away for the winter (sigh), DH has been working on some stuff. You all might remember when I posted this mod...

we liked it so much he decided to redo the other two counters in the camper. Here's one of them

Now, for the long counter to the left of the door, I had asked him if there was any way he could make it all the same narrow width. He did.

He also did this to that same counter. I love the easier accessibility.

Here's a before and after shot of that counter....

Now, being 5'2", I'm pretty vertically challenged, so he also built steps for both bunks. I think I'll keep him!

I like the piano hinge idea. Will have to keep that one tucked away for spring mods....

Awesome job Albert, I'll be bringing mine over in the next couple of days with a list of "to do". I'm still trying to get mine out one last time for an Archery hunt down in Lexington.

LOL Steve! He said he charges by the hour.... I hope you get to go out once more. I keep hoping for a warmup, but don't think it's gonna happen.

Great idea for the hinged counter top. It seams to be a great addition and improves access. I alos like the back step, my kids would really us that!

I really like that. I need to get cracking on my countertops. And the steps are nice. I made one for the wife in ours, made it too tall, so I guess I gotta add a second step in front of it.

Thanks for the neat ideas, Albert and Melanie. I'm designing a new interior for our pup, and cabinets are one of the things I'm mulling over. I like the idea of the hinged lid, and I think I'll incorporate that into one of them in particular, and possibly another. Great job Albert!

That looks like a Yuma and it looks like you took the water heater out too. What did you do about the outside opening? I'm thinking about removing mine because I have never used it and would like the additional cabinet space.

Good job, Albert & Melanie, those tops make the PUP look more cosy. We have a Seapine, so at one end we have the couch to bounce up onto the bunkend. I Like the step idea.

Yes, it's a Yuma. Albert did remove the water tank. He climbed underneath the camper, took a 4x4inch piece of scrap wood and used silicone and four small screws to block the opening. Next time we have it out, I'll get a picture for you.

great idea on the hinged counter tops...looks like it gives you more room than a door would...I think I will put that on my to do list when the ice starts to melt..thanks for the great pix too....

DH built steps to our back bunk, for when the DGKs camp with us. Also made a movable one for the front bunk (for me--also vertically challenged!). We didn't take our sink and stove out, but built a shelf to span the area between them when set up. It sure is handy to have space to work at a convenient height. Your mods look great!
