    Hey all,

New to the site, and new Pop-up owner - a 2009 Viking 1906ST.

Not taken it out yet - just getting it ready.

Any recommendations around Atlanta welcome! Would love to take it somewhere that isn't just 40ft RVS!

    Thanks all!
    James.

Welcome. Depends where you live in ATL. All the SP's are great near there. I lived in Conyers for many years and camped at Hard Labor Creek SP. Lots of nice sites. Get one on the creek at the end of one of the loops. Fort Yargo is good. Stone Mountain park has crowded sites all squished together but you'll like the amenities. I haven't been to the Altoona or Red top mountain SP's yet. I would, however, start camping in your backyard for a night for a shakedown trip. Message me if you have any questions.

Thank you! This is all really helpful. We're up Marietta way, but all of those are in striking distance for a weekend. I hadn't heard of Hard Labor Creek - it looks good. While Stone Mountain isn't the style we're planning on longer term (looking at SPs etc...) we were thinking it would be a good one for a first trip, given the amenities like you say! Perhaps a backyard camp this weekend, and a proper venture out next weekend!!
