Well it happened here in BC, Canada. All provincial campgrounds are closed “until at least April 30” due to virus. Sad times. Our big spring break camping trip now cancelled.

Possible. At this point, any no-fee forestry campsites (aka remote) are still open. Problem is I don’t know of any accessible to minivans with pups, especially at this time of year.

Ya know, you'd think they'd realize that camping is generally a dispersed activity. Most of us cook, rather than go out and we're much more isolated than if we are at work. Seems to me that it would help all of our sanity to allow camping and trust us to maintain proper social distance to our camping neighbors.

If you can do dispersed camping, absolutely!

The problem with commercial CGs is they are usually tighter than home, and you have to share common facilities like showers and bathrooms. If you are at a commercial CG and totally self-contained, you could still keep your distance inside, sure. I just think how worried CG owners would be cleaning bathrooms and showers and common areas wondering who's been where lately.

    Stay safe everyone.

NC State Parks: "Park closures: Due to declared state of emergency in various counties and continued crowding that does not adhere to social distancing guidelines, Crowders Mountain State Park, Hanging Rock State Park, Lake Waccamaw State Park and Raven Rock State Park will be CLOSED as of sunset on Sunday, March 22. ...All campgrounds are closed until further notice."

Unfortunately the selfish and dim witted will dictate our camping :(

The problem is...People who normally don't camp will all herd up and hit the open campgrounds
to get out of the house.

To them i say...Stay out my campground and my secluded spots!!![Guitar]

    California State Parks are closed.
And now after this weekend, too many people went to parks and beaches in LA area, they are closing parking lots and parks.

Yup, got wrecked for everyone here in Oregon too:

From Oregon Governor Kate Browns Press Release this Morning

“I started by asking Oregonians to stay home and practice social distancing. Then I urged the public to follow these recommendations. Instead, thousands crowded the beaches of our coastal communities, our trails, our parks, and our city streets, potentially spreading COVID-19 and endangering the lives of others across the state. Now, I’m ordering it. To save lives and protect our community.”

They shuttered the state park campgrounds in Michigan yesterday too. Hopefully they will reopen when it gets warm enough to camp here.

Understand what everyone is saying, and hate this for everyone, but since we don't use CG's, the closings won't affect us. We boondock and use dispersed camping.
