    I've got a 1996 Coleman Santa Fe.
I'd like to add a battery but there are no wires visible to connect one.
I've done a little research and it seems I should be looking for black and white cables.
Where would these cables be hiding?

They would probably be hiding in the frame channel between the tongue and the converter. I would look at the bottom below the converter for wires coming through the floor.

Look harder, you should find a harness exiting the trailer frame near the battery location that consists of a black wire & white wire, both of which terminate with a white plastic connector that would plug into this battery harness ...

... which you would connect to the battery.
