Good morning! We bought a new coleman Columbia in 89, and just about wore it out dragging it all over California for 20 years while we raised two girls. We had to sell it when we moved across the country to upstate NY. I had modified it for off road boondocking, and towed it with a Bronco 2 and a GMC yukon. I just replaced it with an 89 Williamsburg, and this is where I go off the map... I intend to remove the axle and tongue, and mount it on my Toyota 1 ton dually platform. This is my retired work truck, restored with a fresh engine. This truck was built for the RV /uhaul box truck market, and is more than adequate for the load. I can build a toy hauler trailer with the old axle if I decide to go that route. What I am seeking on this forum is ideas for rigging and load out. I have a set of truck camper jacks so I can drop the rig at base camp and go seek the elusive trout (or haul groceries) with the flatbed. I can upload pictures of the modification process as I build it this winter. Any thoughts or suggestions?
