Trip Details Campground: NRC Solomons Island*. 13855 Solomons Island Rd S, Solomons, MD 20688 Site: C22 [Back in, Full Hook-Ups] Dates: June 30th - July 4th, 2017 Overview: The campground itself is lovely and very well kept. The bathrooms are pretty spaced out and could use some cleaning. The bathhouse at the front had the better showers it seemed. Lots of stalls and they were free with plenty of hot water. A water pressure regulator is recommended if using their hook-ups, they had multiple amperage options to choose from as well if need. There also is a dump station at the front. There isn't a store on site, but there is a market close by just outside the gate. The front desk does sell ice if need. The campsite was a level asphalt pad to back in on surrounded by large shady trees. There was plenty of grass all around with a picnic table and a BBQ at each site. They didn't have fire rings but you are allowed to bring your own, fire wood is not allowed. You are allowed 3 vehicles, 1 camper and 1 tent per site. Dogs are allowed and need to be registered at the front desk and must be on a leash at all times. They aren't allowed on the main beach but you can take them to the beach near the pier and boat launch, just watch out for jellyfish! There are lots of activities, a very family friendly campground. You are given 4 leisure passes per campsite and those are good for activities that are at the campground like mini-golf, the pools, etc. They also have many other options for lodging besides camping including their cabins, cottages, yurts, etc. *Note, this campground is on a Military base and you must have base access to camp here.
