To start with I found this 1970 Appleby popup tent for 300.00 and with a few years campin in it and helping Dirtdoy redo his ..... I had a plan . After addin storage down the sides first thing I came in later and added LEDs , radio , vcp , dvd , cb , tv , tables inside and out But it still sits on 8in wheels and still not much storage ..Time too [MOD] [MOD] [MOD] [MOD]
After some time and thought this is the plan to build a new box for storage under the appleby apx 20 in. for , camping things , water , battery , taller Bigger Rubber , then put the popup on top , then a rack and the boat on top ..Then all this on a new trailer sitting apx 15 in off ground , and on a free set of B.F.Gs 30x9.5x15s
I had this old trailer sitting around someone gave me years ago thought I might be able to use it somehow [ words of a cheep soul ]. [?:~{] After some time looking at what I had it was made clear that I needed to start over

ok still rough numbers but very close to the final project . with the use of a junk yard I found the axle that would fit the bill and budget . A 90 town & country with 60 3/4 in. inside to inside drums , leaf spring , and a center axle offset of 4 in. thous if my unloaded spring sits 5 in and my axle has a offset of 4 in I am +1 in . then a 30x9.5 is only 29 in new that's 14 1/2 + the 1in = there abouts 15 1/2 unloaded and no less then 10 @ the axle ..
Looking @ the bottom box being 110 x 58 in with a 16 in cut corner deck & apx 20 in high . The Appleby sits 21 in high for a total of 56 in top to ground ..

Thats looking great. I love to see someone that looks at something that is servicable as it is but says "I can make it better".

I belong to another message board for a site devoted to people who build their own camping trailers. Its mostly aimed at tear drops but there are quite a few other types. The people are super friendly and always willing to help. www.mikenchell.com/forums

Good luck and keep up the posts of your progress.

Oldskool you are a hella welder. I have a small wire mig with gas, but yours look awsome. Wish I had the space to work on my projects too. all i have is a small one car garage that barely holds my tools.HAhA.
    Lookin real good though.
Thouight about doing something similar to mine but like yours I'd have to rebuild the frame.
    Keep up the good work!
