In my area, there is no place to refill my propane tanks. is there an EZ way to convert over to the new style tank, like the one on my gas grill? I have 2 old style tanks that wil be all but useless unless i drive 50 miles to refill them. A co-worker has mentioned that the old style hose end wil thread into the inside of the new style valve? any help is always appreciated. This site is awesome!!

2 options. You could either replace the valve on your old tank:

or you could replace the pigtail

I have several old tanks and all work with the new valves.

I'd just replace the old tanks as soon as they're empty. There is supposed to be a life span on those and they aren't supposed to be refilled after so many years.

you can also buy an adapter to convert the old tank. Try Lowes or Home depot. I bought one for a old tank.
