As a kid Ive camped at a lot of provincial parks, only ones off hand I can remember are Arrow Head (cause I passed every other weekend while in College) and Silver lake, cause I took the family there last year.

I'll have to check with my parents and see what other ones we camped at.

Let's see...most were in my teen years, over twenty years ago, and we were mostly drunk back then. Hopefully I can remember...Arrowhead, Killbear, Oastler, Bass Lake, Six mile lake, Mcrae point, Mara, Earl Rowe (I think), Craigleith, Algonquin, Awenda. And I am sure there are a few more, but mind is cloudy!

Since we started camping in 1999, we have been to Killarney, Kakabeka Falls, Rainbow Falls, Sleeping Giant, Blue Lake, Neys, Finlayson Point, Esker Lakes, Fairbanks, Lake Superior (Rabbit Blanket Lake, Agawa and Pancake Bay), Windy Lake. As you can see, these are all northern parks.

Oh yes, I forgot about Driftwood, Samuel de Champlain, Arrowhead and Algonquin at Pog Lake. We have been to these parks in either tents, tent trailers or in our new TT. I must mention we almost camped at Ivanhoe Lake but that is when the cable snapped on the tent trailer and led us to a new TT this summer.

We are going to go camping this weekend at Chutes and end the season at Grundy Lake on Thanksgiving weekend. At least that's the plan for now.

Update: We made it to Chutes that weekend and Grundy for Thanksgiving. What a glorious weekend! We also visited Restoule and are thinking of that park for next Thanksgiving. A lot quieter!

Good post made me look at the parks map to find all the ones I've been to over the years (many years .
In a Pup with my parents
Emily, Presquile, Grundy Lake, Pancake Bay, Rainbow Falls, Kakabecka Falls, Rushing River. there were many trips to all these parks, especially the ones around superior as we did a trip from ontario to winnipeg every 2 years as our parents brought the kids home to show off to the grandparents
Since then in a tent with DH, DD, DS1, DS2...hopefully soon to become a PUP...
Sauble Falls, Macgregor point, pinery, craigleith, Port Burwell, Wheatly, Sibbald Point (sorry we didn't know better..), Presquisle, Sandbanks, Bon Echo, Silent Lake, Killarney, Restoule (one of our faves), Arrowhead, Killbear, Six Mile Lake, Kettle Lakes (our version of bring the kids home to show off to the grandparents), Algonquin (Mew Lake, Rock Lake, Lake of 2 rivers), Blue Lake (the one trip around superior to show the kids off to the great grandparents)

This is a great list. We are just starting out with our family of 4 and would love specific recommendations for some of the parks within 400km of Toronto. Our children are 4 and 8 months.

thanks,

Hey Diveman...Killbear to me is the absolute most gorgeous park I've been to, followed by my perennial favourite, Algonquin...MacGregor and Pinery along Lake Huron are also very nice if you have bicycles

Have booked Craigleith for a weekend in May (my Daughter loves this place, and the fossils!) and a week at Bass lake in July. Thinking Arrowhead for August, and some other small trips in between.
