We are finally camping!!! It is 90 degrees and I am soooo happy we have air conditioning!!
Nice set up.
If I went with the high wall, that is the exact floorplan I would chosen. I was just concerned my mom would have fallen trying to get out of bed in the middle of the night. So went with something a little lower.
Nice camper hope you had fun.
Kudos to you guys!! Have a great time!
Looks great, I hope ya'll have many great adventures in the future and make a lot of memories.
Good Luck and Happy Camping
First night...we learned a few things about our pop up camper.
1. It is possible to freeze the AC. I know because it happened to us. We got too cold so I turned the fan down to low cool. Well that was my mistake. Within a few hours it stopped working. My husband suspected it was frozen. After scouring over the ‘net for a solution at 2am...I came across a solution and it WORKED! I just had to turn it off for a few minutes. Turn it back on to high fan only for about an hour. Then turn the AC back on with the fan on HIGH and just control the thermostat we get cold...big newbie mistake on my part.
2. I really, really love my outdoor kitchen!!!
I have a Flagstaff HW31SCTH which is a cousin to the Rockwood HW277. Add a 8-1/2' deck up front, a second axle, swap the fridge and heater location (and add an L-shaped goucho up front) and delete the outdoor kitchen. Love it so far. Except the fridge location leaves a LOT to be desired. Can you access your fridge (to start it up) without popping up? Half hour to just push a dumb button. <grumble>
Yes. It is located across from the small travel door. It makes it convenient to put things in before heading out.
Nice set up. I have a 2008 rockwood HW258, but yours is way nicer. Glad you had a nice trip.
Thank you ☺️
I can understand your concern and rightly so. I am barely 5’3” and it is an effort to get off the bed. I have to step on the little ledge/step to safely reach the floor.
Great pup! What are you towing it with?
2003 Dodge Durango
Your camper makes mine look medieval....
Nice camper, enjoy! We have a Fleetwood highwall. Like yours, we can access the fridge easily with the top down. Makes pre-trip packing a breeze.
I am sure you still have a great time camping and that is what counts.
I had a HW276 with the same issue. I added a toggle switch just inside the outside refrig panel, and just left the inside switch on all the time. When I wanted to pre-cool the frig for upcoming travel, I turned the outside switch on and was good to go.
That is a great idea! What position do you leave the inside control set at. 12v or gas?
