This summer we headed north with our two grand daughters for our annual summer vacation. Our little "Gnometown" camp. We spent a week at the wonderful Stillwater State Park in the Groton State Forest in Vermont. It's a great CG and we spent lots of quality time, swimming, paddling, cycling, and hiking. Cycling on the Cross Vermont Trail Hiking to Kettle Pond We took the time to take in the sights and even watched them make ice cream at Ben and Jerry's and cheese at Cabot Dairy. Next we headed to Maine and camped for a week at Balsam Woods CG near Abbott. This is fantastic CG with a heated in-ground pool, fun activities, nice facilities, great owners, and even wifi in your campsite. We took a cruise on Moose Head lake on the Steamboat Katahdin and the girls even got to take a hand at steering. We got lots of sweet moose watching in during our trip to Baxter St. Park. It was certainly the highlight of our trip. What would a trip to Maine be, with out a lobster feast? And a visit to the Portland Head Light! On the way home we spent a day exploring Gettysburg. We made it back home after 3650 miles and 17 days. It was another fun pop-up road trip with the grand daughters. I sure am glad that we were able to do it! The Gnometown Gang hiking in Vermont.
