Anyone have any input on this park? DS and family (and maybe us, too) are planning a trip there next summer. We like to plan ahead! We're checking out options in the area. Thanks.

We've never camped there but it's a nice park with a huge lake. Much of the lake is unlimited horsepower, so there's probably a lot of motor boat and jet ski traffic. One of the camping loops does not have much shade ... I think it's the D loop, but not positive.

Thanks, Fritz. We're still in the planning stage, but it's good to hear from someone who's stayed there. Websites can be so deceiving!

AND, for us it is only 45 minutes away!

Codorus Campground Review and Pics: Good signs to get into campground. Stayed on Loop C. Bathouse was clean and adequate, everything worked. Paved driveways and parking pads. Sites 87-120 are shady all day. 87 and 89 co-join. PUPS OK on sites 87-91, 97, 101, 105-107, 112-120. RV OK on 113 and 114. Sites 148-152 level and full sun with grassy area sloping down hill behind. Sites in upper 30 amp D loop are all full sun and land slopes down hill toward site 170.

Walmart is 15 min away. Bikes were a good idea, c loop is level. pool has slides and a $4 fee and you can re-enter, but is cheaper if you are a camper, so take your registraion papers with you. If in C loop you can walk over, the path is hilly though. There is a concession stand and ice cream stand, but can take your own too.

Boat rentals are available. Should make reservations for pontoons, they're popular. $51 1st hour, $237 2nd and 3rd hour, $144 4 hours. Nice frisbee golf course on Day use side.

    http://photobin.midatlanticcampers.org/v/CampingMisc/Recons/Codorus2012/ link for site pics

When I was over and took these pics, I really liked the amount of shady spots all over the park.

We camp and boat in Codorus SP. It is such a wonderful park. Full of scenic views and wildlife. The campground is well maintained, patrolled constantly, and the site are just about all good. The park itself is broke down in several sections. A short 5 minute drive will get you to any of the areas worth a day trip. There is a boat rental at the marina where you can rent pontoon boats for the day or smaller fishing boats. Disc golf is big at this park and has a wonder full course. We live about 20 minutes away from the park and visit there a couple of times per month (not camping) and about 3 or 4 weekend camping trips a year. The park is close to Hanover, Pa and a short drive of about 10 minutes will get you to a Sheetz, Walmart, Shopping Centers, and plenty of good places to eat if your not looking for camp food. The park is 30 to 40 minutes away from Gettysburg Pa!!!! A great little town with plenty to do.

If your looking for specific info, please PM me. I can help you find what your looking for in the area or help steer you in the right direction.

    Have fun,

Can anyone recommend a nice shady spot for a pop-up with electric hook-ups?

If you have pets book early! They have limited pet sites. Fishing is great too but you have to have a state fishing license. They will take your gear & fine you if you don't have a license.

The only thing I don't like is that you cannot walk your dog around the entire loop if the loop isn't all pet sites. That's just stupid to me especially when half the loop has dog sites.

    Enjoy!

Loops B & C are wooded & mostly shady with electric. Loop D is grassy & sunny. On the reservation page, be sure to check the site attributes. It will tell you if it is sunny, partial shade, full shade, etc.
I have always stayed in a shady spot in B, but in Aug, I have a reservation for a site at the other end of the loop & it states it's full sun, (backs up to playfield instead of trees) so read the info for your chosen site before booking.
