[PU] Had a great weekend camping at Col Denning 14-15 June 2013. This is a rustic (non-flush / no showers) campground. Beautiful location with a great hike trail out to Flatrock vista. The hike is moderate 2.5 miles and took us 3.5 hours round trip. Campground is very friendly and has an active friends of Col Denning Campground that was having their work weekend when we were there. Campground hosts are very nice and accommodating, Easy to get to off I-81 from the Newville Exit on Route 233. We will come here again.

We just got back from this State Park June 28-30. We have a dog so we had to stay in the pet loop, which is located near the entrance along the stream. We were happy to be on the stream as it seems that the pet loops are normally in the less desirable part of the park. The sites are much closer together in the pet loop than it appeared on the map, but we set up camp with a nice view of the stream at the edge of our site. It was just amazing to have the stream right outside the bunk. The major downside of the pet loop was the walk to the bathroom. It was only a short walk, but up pretty steep incline, if you have trouble with hills and don't have your own toilet plan accordingly. There is also very limited bike riding area for the kids.

This is not our favorite start park in the area, but definitely our favorite place to sleep of the parks we visited so far. There is nothing better than waking up to the sound of the stream.

looking into staying here a weekend in 2021. I have a 30 ft fifth wheel, and was wondering how big these campsites are? what I can tell on PA DCNR it seems like most sites are >20 ft with very limited sites larger than that. how hard would it be to get a larger RV into these sites?

I stand corrected. After looking the map over again, looks like there some bigger sites mostley in the lower section
