Maynor Creek Water Park is located on the outskirts of Waynesboro, Ms. in Wayne County. It is one of the many Pat Harrison Waterway District parks that are spread throughout Mississippi. Camping facilities are great with full hookups at many sites along with bath houses that leave much to be desired but do provide a basic facilities along with washers and dryers. Some sites are on the water's edge while others are tucked away in the hilly forest. Most sites are fairly level and paved along with decks, no pads, but do have picnic tables along with steps to access them on sites with slopes. All sites are pretty much shaded by many tall Pine trees. The park also features several really nice cabins of various styles from smaller ones to the two story A frame styled with fireplaces, although none of the cabins are near the camping area but still in the park none the less. There is no store in the park but Waynesboro is nearby only 2 or 3 miles away. There is a small convenience store up the road just outside the gate of the park. The 450 acre lake is teaming with fish and a boat launch is available along with flat boat rentals. Water skiing areas are designated along with plenty of backwater areas for canoeing and kayaking. There are two swimming areas one of which is located in the campground area. No alcoholic beverages are allowed, although it is loosely enforced as long as it's kept discreet. Numerous picnic tables and pavilions are available in the day use area.
