Was ABRAMS CREEK Camp crowded... Not a very big camp ground... We have stayed there several time over the years...

You almost give up going thinking I must have taken a wrong turn haha... We have always tent camped here....

Great place... Neat trail that goes up to Cades Cove too...

There is also a ABRAMS CREEK RETREAT in WV too... Have never been to that one...

It was crowded over Memorial day weekend but by Monday afternoon (Memorial day) it was nearly empty and stayed that way for the rest of the week. One of our favorite spots we just with they would open it up in April like they used too. April was perfect with the Mountain Laurel in bloom along the creek and nice cool afternoons and evenings and usually more than half the sites empty.

Great .... We really like the Smoky Mtn Natl Park... Our favorite is ELKMONT CAMP... Same thing happens there .. after the weekend it is all yours haha....

Been going there since the 90s.... Both Tent camping and my OFF=ROAD POPUP camper...

This fits right in to my Ham Radio ops - There is a Ham Repeater located on the mtn at Cades Cove. This means i can run all over the place with my Ham radio Hand held unit haha... The local hams in the Gatlinburg area are my kinda of hams. They like to rag chew all night long...

I think there is 14 sites, half of them are on the water. We were in site A9 which I think is the nicest site there.

Great camp site picture at Abrams creek...

Love the canopy idea for Smoky Mtn camping... The tree cover is so dense they will drip rain for days after a rain storm... Everywhere you look at ELKMONT you see someone with a canopy tent up..

ELKMONT as well as most other Smoky Mtn Camp sites are situated along side LITTLE RIVER that runs through the area... NO HOOKUP and TENT camping is definitely alive and well here in the Smokies...

Nice photos. We commonly go without running water and hooks as well. We don't even have a battery for the camper or bring a generator.... [A]

Beautiful picture! I love the Smokie's. Being from KY we go there quite often for weekend trips. I booked a secluded cabin there for Valentine's Day and was scared going up and down the mountain. It was definitely secluded. I booked a private campground (Camp River's Landing) for Labor Day and am looking forward to being on the Little Pigeon River.
