will be in our family site, lake, ducks, geese, squirrels etc..no neighbors
We would LOVE to be camping, but we actually have to fix the popup to use it. The lift arm is broken =(. I selected "other" for that reason. We will be camping 4th of July though.
Heading to the local mountains with another family, both without reservations, so if we can find two spots in the CG on the walk-in plan, we'll be up there for the weekend. If not, we're making s'mores and bacon and coffee at home. Yeah, it will probably be crowded, people up late playing music, kids riding bikes everywhere, but that's kind of like our home anyway. I even washed the pup, to get the layer of oxidization off. Looks nice now. Almost all the so-cal sites were booked for this weekend at least a month in advance.
Harpers Ferry KOA Thurs thru Sunday...and this is only our second camping trip with our new-to-us 98 Coleman Westlake. Our first trip was Easter weekend, also at HFKOA. The owner there, Dale, is really nice - he took a lot of time with us easter weekend to show us how everything worked - esp. the heater. He didnt have to, and I wont forget his kindness. I think the owners make the campground.
I know, it wil be crowded...we had to keep calling to find a cancellation but finally got a site in the section we wanted. We have three little ones and they love that jumpy pillow. As long as the pool is open, the smores are a cookin, and daddy has some cold refreshments, how bad can it be! Stop by for a s'more, or a beer.
We'll be dry camping (for the first time) at Rock Creek Park/Oregon. Some relatives have booked it and I understand it's a field where we can "circle our wagons" and have a center fireplace.
We've only been hooked up since we got our PUP 2 yrs ago, so this should be interesting. I'm a little concerned about the old battery I have, but it still beats a tent by miles!! And there's still propane cooking inside and out!
We'll be camping for the first time in our new pup. Plans were to have a couple weekenders under our belt first but as life's plans change so do ours. So why not do it big with 4 nights at Table Rock State Park in Missouri with the wife, 2 kids and 2 dogs 5 hours from home! Should be a fun adventure if the tornadoes don't wreck it before we start. Wish us luck.
We'll be camping around the Orlando area, can't wait!
Camping, more or less. Historical re-enactment in beautiful Pine Grove Park in Port Huron, Michigan. French and Indian War period (or Seven Years War if you're so inclined ). Come one come all. Great times to be had.
Cheking into Westmoreland State Park,VA on Saturday, do a little geocaching and fossil digging unless it's too rowdy. Home on Monday after spending another weekend in the pup, reconnecting with the DW!
Grandsons 5th birthday is Memorial Day weekend and his mom wants to have a big party, SO...no camping for me that weekend.
We really want to be camping but had to change our plans since our DD is signing papers Wed for her first home and needs to be moved by June 1. It will be worth it but I can't remember when we haven't camped on Memorial Day. Maybe we will could do camp backyard that weekend. Hope all of you have a great weekend.
I ride with the Patriot Guard Riders and every Memorial Weekend on Sunday we are escorted by Law Enforcement on a parade. Most of us have flag poles on our bikes and fly full size American and POW flags. We do this to remind all Americans to support your country and those that fight for our freedom and remember those we have lost in the battle for our freedom. Whether camping or at home, fly your flag and remember. Our main mission, one that we do all to often, is escort, support, and protection for our fallen soldiers and their families, be it a veteran that has just passed on or an active duty soldier that is KIA. The Patriot Guard is always there, 200,000 strong and counting. If you know of a family that needs us please let us know, we are in every state.
Working on camper that weekend. =) Going to float the Illinois river the weekend after Memorial day!
camping at one of our fav cg's! went up yesterday to check it out and although it doesnt open till Thursday we met the camp host and walked the sites. still lot's of snow up there considering but hopefully the projected 60"s and 70's will take care of that before Friday. Especially since the site i booked has a lot of snow but i dont care cause i'll be CAMPING
We'll be taking our 2001 Viking on her maiden voyage this weekend at Steele Creek Park on Lake Whitney. Weather looks excellent 90/70. Camp backyard this past weekend and didn't find any issues. Hope everyone has a safe weekend, enjoy God's country, and leave her better than you found her.
Heading for Holly River CG on Friday morning so we can catch the woodchopping festival in Webster Springs
Camp Backyard we have alot of things to do on our house we are doing a complete remodel and have alot that needs done. IE drywall and wireing ,electric Etc. So we are setting pup up in the yard and making smore around the camp fire.
Heading out Friday morning for the Rio Chama Canyon Wilderness/Christ of the Desert Monastery Rd. This will be the first real trip in the p'up....can't wait. Friday cannot get here soon enough.
We wish we were going away...but our oldest son has a baseball tournament - ALL WEEKEND - did I mention ALL WEEKEND!!! Games start at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday and go through until Monday - ugh!! Luckily I love to watch my son play! Our 1st trip out is two weeks from Friday - I can't wait!!! I hope you all have wonderful trips out this weekend and for those who live where I do (Rochester, NY), I hope you can avoid the rain!!!
