I’ve seen threads where people are paying $100 for popup insurance that covers everything. My camper is registered in Massachusetts. My insurance company (Plymouth Rock) quoted me an additional $675 a year for full coverage or additional $493 for comprehension. I find this outrages. I haven’t heard anyone paying this much for a 2005 Flagstaff Mac 228D.

Wow! That is crazy. My popup was around $5 a month ($6000 value), I think I pay $11 a month for my Hybrid now. I think it is tied to my tow vehicle. I use Farmers Insurance for Auto.

I pay $130 per year through State Farm. Sounds like Plymouth Rock is a complete rip-off.

Are you sure they know it's a popup and not a class A??

I paid $100.00 a year. Had to use it once They paid squat. Hit road debris and broke a spring. Adjuster said spring was weak to start with. Didn't pay.
    "Flo" let me down.

Amfam is only charging me 206 per year for 100% full coverage and a 500 dollar deductible on my 2021 coachmen clipper 12.0 TD xl. I’d call another company. Ouch!

I just re-upped mine (Progressive), $100.76. Stated value of $10,000, with roadside assistance, trip insurance, contents coverage...
Yeah, I'd say look for another company.

Progressive direct $110. They have paid out twice for me. New axle once then enough for the current pup when they totaled the previous one. I figure I came out at least even after years of premiums.[:D]

oh and don’t do market value. You want an agreed upon value, that way they are more likely to give enough to cover replacement.

The value your insurance company is giving you is what my new trailer’s insurance is going to cost, but I get full roof and pest protection for that price.

Have Progressive thru USAA, think it's $200+ something for 2 campers, a 2019 GO & a 2020 Nucamp Boondock Edge XL; I'd for sure check out somebody else for camper coverage...

I called them on it and told them they are charging me for a travel trailer instead of tent on wheels. They later quited $150 through Safeco.

This is super interesting. We were told by our insurance that the popup was covered by our home insurance? I'm going to have to investigate this more....

Wait to revive this a bit I called mine,Gieco, and they said I don’t need to insure because it is covered by my towe vehicles insurance? So does this mean you all don’t need it either or am I misinformed and I need insurance on the trailer?

No expert, but I would assume that coverage of the camper by your auto policy depends upon what kind of coverage your auto has and any additional riders attached. With that said, I went with Progressive with our popup. I liked the "extras" they include, such as pest protection (mice, etc)., roof damage...even medical coverage for your pet should something happen to him while he's in the camper. Like other things, many of these items can be opted out of but the cost to add them is marginal, so I went with just about all the coverage they offered. Only added about $100 per year to the base cost.
