Yeah. Everybody panics because they think there is going to be a shortage, they run out and buy up all the marshmallows, then there really is a shortage. Wake me up when it's over.
Just like with any fruit, the small ones taste better because they are more concentrated. The small ones can be hydroponically grown indoors and don't suffer from weather conditions. When these hit the black market, authorities will have to get special police units involved to make sure the whole industry doesn't crash. They'll have to call in Horatio from Miami-Dade.
I've heard that the fluff was the remains after they are harvested and cut down to size... basically the equivalent of bologna... don't quote me though
I read on the internet (so it HAS to be true) that Kraft is going to import sub-standard marshmallows from Bolivia.
The main problem with these is that they may be infested with the blue headed mallow weevil. The red headed weevil may be present but they are not quite as prevalent, there may only be one or two per bag.
What I hate is that nowadays, they import the marshmallows and they are all hard and grainy instead of sweet and juicy, the way fruit should be. I guess it's so they don't get bruised in shipping. I prefer to grow and harvest my own, but I only get about a couple of dozen marshmallows off of one tree and it isn't really worth growing them.
