Possible. 2024 West Virginia Rally?

Since I’m skipping holding my Annual 2023. rally this year due to my daughters wedding , got me thinking about hosting a rally in 2024 In West virginia. Incorporating fall foliage train ride. Around Cass . Could be a fun group activity . Possibly 2 nd weekend in Oct 2024. just putting out a feeler to see if there may be interest in this area?

Sounds like A fun trip and something I will be interested in so long as the dates still work out by then. I believe my brother took that same train ride years ago. I’ve been wanting to try it out myself but life likes to get in the way.

Looks like there train rides out of Cass, Elkins, or Romney West Virginia depending on what depot and train ride most would be interested in. We can schedule Time/date. And campground location. The train rides are alittle pricey, however I do hear they are well worth it. They also seem to book well in advance , especially for the fall rides. So if more interest I will start a poll

I would like to make a trip that far South, so I will keep an eye on this thread.

Starting to research some campgrounds close to Cass scenic railroad. There looks to be 3 private campgrounds local to the area. Closest being Whitaker Campground. Only 2.8 miles away. This is a 40 tent / 62 trailer sites but not sure how many are actual transceint . Not open until middle of April. So will try calling to get more info then. Seven mile campground in Dunmore WV , and East Fork in Durbin seem to be the next best closest . not sure how many State campgrounds are in the Monongahela National Forest region or close by. Found Kumbrabow. But it seems rather small, mostly tent only with just one rv site. So that won’t work. Any suggestions from locals?

Watoga state Park Seems to be about a hour drive to Cass.
