So I am new the pop up world and we have a 2009 Coleman/Fleetwood Sedona that was setup for the first time this weekend due to the global warming machine being turned up to high this year.
The back story is this. It rained on Thursday morning and the camper was still closed but uncovered. The water stayed on top of the roof for a few hours before I brushed it off. Fast forward to Saturday. I opened the camper up in the morning and all was well. The weather was dry and in the low 50's so no new rain. Later in the evening I closed the camper and as I am cranking it down about an ounce or 2 of water came out of the passenger side front corner down onto the screen. Whiile the camper is for the mostly level it may be that the front passenger side is the low point (the site of the leak). So as I crank a bit more water comes out. After a minute or so the drip stopped.
Below are a few images of what I found.
The crack in the seal material on the corner is on the high side of the camper. There is also a crack along a screw on the low front corner as well. All I can think of is that when I was cranking the camper closed that the water ran down to the lowest point and exited there. It is most obvious sign of entry that I can find. The only other thing I can think of is maybe the center seam may leak as the standing water was there for bit.
I searched for a good hour or two looking and reading posts but do to all the variations or roofs and materials and my inexperience I would love to have someone give me a few tips on how to go about fixing the issues.
Specifically with the sealant failing in the corner.
Should I remove the corner cap?
Do I remove the caulk that is there or just go over it?
What type of sealant should I use for this type of roof?
For the crack along the screw in the front corner.
Should I replace the corner cover or is this fixable as is? What would be the best way to go about it?
Thanks for helping out the newbie.
