    Hi,
I've emailed Aliner but they haven't responded...

What brand of power converter comes in an Expedition these days? All it says on the website is 35 amp. I'd like to know the charging profile and if it can be modified.

That's a Kevin question. Doubt it as that would interfere with business as usual

I sent them a link to this thread. Maybe they'll step up, be the heroes.

I feel like a kid before Christmas waiting for this trailer...

    Same here.
You may have a better chance of paying them more to leave it out and add the upgrade yourself. Then you open up the "we couldn't check it without the converter" when something doesn't work. Probably should just upgrade after you get it.

Please let us know how it works when you do put it in. I'm assuming you are prepping for at LifePO4 battery conversion.

I am going to be installing this same unit in my PUP and pairing it with a lithium battery under the dinette seat....

Yeah, unless the stocker has a charging profile that won't piss off a Battle Born too much.
Haven't gotten a reply from Battle Born either.

Because they specified 35 amp converter I assume they'll install the 8735. See the manual page 12 for the specs. IMO it would be marginal but useable. I wouldn't leave it plugged in over a week at a time but with LiFePo you don't need to keep it on a maintenance charge like you do LA. I would install a disconnect for storage or if you expect to be plugged in for an extended period.

Confirmed with Kevin and Jamie at the factory. 8735.
Now I'll talk to Battle Born.

    Blatantly quoting myself...

Short answer, no, the 8735 won't keep the battery happy.
But there is a direct replacement --- Progressive Dynamics PD4045KA
    https://www.etrailer.com/RV-Converters/Progressive-Dynamics/PD4045KA.html

I went ahead and ordered the BB heated battery kit and will order the converter.
    Buy once, cry once...

edit: where do I get the breakers for the converter? Doesn't come with any.

Check at Bestconverter.com, pretty sure they sell the breakers separately or in a package deal.

Just left Kevin a message asking (okay, begging) them to install my PD converter there at the factory before shipping the trailer to my dealer.

Kevin called me back; a big negatory on factory installing my upgraded converter.

Said they'd take a look at LiFePo4 batteries and better converters but doubts they'd ever offer them as options. Said people look at pricepoint more than actual performance. I found that sad.

It’s the unfortunate truth though. People already say the Aliners are way to expensive for what you get.

I agree with the buy once, cry once theory. I would rather pay a bit more and get something that is going to last than buy something mediocre and have to replace it in a year or two.

Running into the same thing on my 2021 Aliner Family Expedition. Ordered the BB 100Ah battery today. Looks like I will have to install a new converter.

Installed the progressive dynamics 35 amp replacement for the WFCO8735. The hole is about 3/8" too wide in my model for the new PD converter. I am going to have to do a bit of modification. Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the aliner standard power converter? What maps to what fuse?

Also looking at moving my BB 100Ah inside the trailer for theft prevention. It looks like the Zamp solar connector and trailer emergency brake connector are wired directly to the battery. May just clean up the wiring and throw some caps on them.
