Yes the 2021 rally was just over a month ago, but planning needs to start and the earlier the better..

Decisions need to be made.. first and foremost is the dates.. do we keep the 2022 rally on the weekend of or following Canada Day or do we move ahead by 1 weekend or move it back by one weekend.? (Canada Day weekend is a Friday in 2022)

Location is the next item.. do we keep it along the 400/hwy 11 area like we have been of do we completely move it, more Eastwards or Northwards?

In 2022 Canada Day is on a Friday, which means most will have a 3 day weekend..

Personally I wouldn't mind holding the rally at a place like Grundy, Samuel (providing they have power restored) , Driftwood, Canisbay or even back at Arrowhead again.. BUT this is about where YOU want to try..

Heck if people are willing and able even Marten River or Voyageur are possibilities..

So start thinking, reservation window opens in roughly 7 months.

Thinking cap is on! I'm fine with keeping it on the Canada Day long weekend next year....but could do weekend before or after.

I definitely wouldn't go as far as Marten River PP....it's just too far for us. Sticking to North of the 400 is fine for us to keep it central for everyone.

I’m close to the northern parks, but my time is more flexible than most.
I really think that moving it further south would be beneficial to most—less travel time and dealing with the long weekend traffic on Hwy 400/Hwy 11. Even the alternate route via Hwy 12 is bumper-to-bumper.

We're up in the air about the Canada day long weekend... If Cobourg goes ahead with waterfront weekend we may say home... Unsure...

We need campground suggestions... and how far east or west of the 400/11 corridor do we go..
Craigleith is a nice park, down side is no real beach .. you have to go to Wassaga Beach #1 .. for free parking..

I would do Oastler before mcrea or Mara..
Downside of oastler is the trains that run hourly at night.. but it does have a nice beach and the pull thru sites are good...

Trains don't bother me. You get used to them. I'm willing to do Oastler.

And perhaps Mikisew if it isn't the long weekend.

I've never been to Mara, and I like to visit new-to-me parks. I like the satellite view of Mara—-well treed—and Orillia would seem like a perfect drive for everyone—from north or south. My 2[2C].

Yes, very true. It is central for everyone and the beach seems quite nice. My parents loved it when they were there for a week. They said it was a beautiful park.
And the location wouldn't matter too much for whatever weekend it was held.

Ok, so we'll go with Mara as the location..

Now we staying with Canada Day weekend? Or moving it? I know I'll be off one way or another..

I’m good with any of those weekends.
It would be helpful to know which weekend is selected, since I’m already planning my route/campgrounds for a trip west in June. I’ll be attending the National Aliner Rally and post-Rally in South Dakota June 13th-20th, and I’m currently extending my trip further west after the NAR. However, I could modify my route, heading west in late May and then go to the NAR on the way home.
