Hey all, I just had Camping World install a prodigy for me. The unit seems to have power (led lights up) all the time, even without the key in the ignition. Is this correct, or did they miss something? Seems to me it should be no key, no power. if no trailer is connected, you should see 2 little red dots. They will turn off after a few minutes of sitting idle (vehicle off, brakes not pressed) by going into a power saving mode. Since it's power source is (or had better be) connected, through a breaker, directly to battery power without going through the ignition switch, it will always have power. Refer to the manual that came with the prodigy for an explanation of this and what the indicator lights mean.
As soon as I get in the vehicle and touch the brake my two dots come on (this is with no trailer connected). They stay on even after the vehicle is turned off for a few minutes then go off (just like Xolthrax said above with the idle mode). Ken Elizabeth Zach Kyrie 04 Dodge Durango HEMI 99 Coleman Santa Fe
I emailed you a with a wiring diagram to illustrate what I said above (well, OK, 2 emails. I'm a pinhead and forgot to attach the picture in the first one). Joe
Hey all, Thanks for the quick reply. By the time I went back out to the truck, the lights were out and it was sleeping soundly. Now just a 12 hour drive to Dubuque to pick up our new Flagstaff!
