My new Curt Echo came last night via UPS. I had heard that European vehicles (my GLK included) can be finicky with the seven wire connector TV plug. I thought that the Echo with its Bluetooth connection might be the easiest way to go. It looks like it is very simple to set up so I expect as long as U haul gets the connector wired right I will have a plug and play situation with the brake controller. Now my chimpanzee brain is worrying how I can check the quality of the wiring at the U Haul store at delivery this Saturday. I would hope they have a dummy load tester they use to ensure their wiring installation is correct and use the same tool to demonstrate it to me. Anyone have any experience with a U Haul installation that included the wiring? Did they have a tester they used to show the wiring was functioning correctly? I want to go get the camper after hitch install on Saturday and need to make sure was done correctly.

I keep a 4 pin and 7 blade tester in the truck all the time. Probably about $15 for both. [IMG]

When I installed my 7-pin TV connector, I got one with the test lights built into it, I like it.

I guess U-haul has gotten better over the years. Last time I saw their wiring jobs it was loaded with scotch locks and bare wire hanging out of a tail light...

Hopefully they do well. No way would let Uhaul here touch my vehicle. The wiring is simple enough, so I just do my own. I know it is done right. Tuesday a co-worker asked me to install his hitch and wire the lights. He isnt very mechanically inclined but he helped and learned a ton.
