A couple of weeks ago on my last outing at a campground, I also saw a couple people washing their dishes at the communal drinking water station, leaving water station ground soaked in water, muddy and full of food scraps.
I don't get it.
I see it often as well at parks - even washing dishes in the bathroom sinks. Got worse over the last couple seasons too.
I burn my old tires out camping....Cuts down on the skeeters!I'm not a grape nuts chewing environmentalist but I do try to cut down on paper waste, and that includes eating off of 'real' plates when camping when possible. Frankly I like it tons better too, vs paper plates which absorb food, fall apart, etc (or you can buy the expensive premium ones that are even worse for the budget and the environment).
That said when on a long trip where we're primarily sightseeing instead of hanging at the campsite, we will often use paper to save time.
I only did it once....We all looked like coal miners the next morning.I burn my old tires out camping....Cuts down on the skeeters!
When I was a teenager we cooked some hotdogs on burning tires behind a 7-11 and then had to run from the police.I burn my old tires out camping....Cuts down on the skeeters!
YES! So tired of having to clean the garbage (charred beer cans, used diapers, etc) out of the fire pit before we can use it. Just gross. The campfire pit is for campfires.
Adult or baby?... used diapers, etc.) out of the fire pit before we can use it.
Sadly it seems to have gotten worse the last two years and my guess more non camper people are all of the sudden camping and do not know the etiquette.
