We just finished our seven week summer holiday and wanted to mention a hidden gem of a campground about half way between Munising and Grand Marais.
Joeida Campground has about nine sites. No electricity, no sewer, and a hand pump with great water. The pit toilets were cleaner than any Marriott I've stayed in. Nothing over about 30' will get down the mile or so dirt road.
The sites are huge and private. A commercial park would have parked easily eight class As in our one site.
We also stayed at a couple of NFS sites in the area. Bay Furnace and Petes Lake were also nice.
