I made notice of this phenomenon last year and I'm seeing it again this season for a different reason: When gas was four bucks a gallon, RV dealers weren't selling any land yachts. So they moved the Pups from the back of the lot to out by the highway. Well, now that the economy's in the crapper, they're at it again. Driving past both Media in Hatfield and Indian Valley outside of Souderton last night, guess what's in plain sight from the road? You guess it! Any similar sitings in your corner of the world?

Do you mean Hatfield, MA? There is Long View RV in Hatfield, MA which may be doing that.. The Long View in CT has the same Class As they had last season, along the side of 91. There are 2 or 3 pups backed in (back to the highway), and they still don't give you even a second look unless you're looking at higher end unit. A form of natural selection maybe?

RV dealers have to try and sell the inventory that they have the most amount of money tied up in. They have to move those units to survive, so it's not a surprise to see those big RV's out front.

I saw the pups out front over at Media, I think they also got a new delivery of utility trailers set up where the pups were sitting over the winter. It was nice to see a few of them popped up on the lot.

I've yet to go to a dealer who is happy to sell a used popup. Its like a chip on their shoulder. I guess they don't make much of a commission if any at all but geez, it does a heart good to see people buy what they can afford rather than dig the debt hole deeper.

Went to an local RV dealer last summer looking for a popup.....salesman would even get out of his chair to show us around the popup's. Guess who didn't buy a popup from that dealer! I guess he wasn't hungry yet!

The RV dealer in our town had mentioned to me when I was in there recently that all they're really moving right now are pop-ups and small TTs. Their Class As, buses, etc. are mostly sitting tight. They aren't thrilled to be selling low-commission items, but they're adjusting, because they need to make their money somehow.

One of the RV dealers I drive by daily, just acquired some PUPs. I have never seen pups on his lot until this year. However he does have some class A and larger fifth-wheels that have been there for a couple of years.
