Man, we are going camping this weekend (actually Thursday through Saturday) and the weather forecast is driving me nuts!!!
It says there is a 40% [{}=] chance of rain on Thursday, then 70% [{}=] on Friday and 30% [{}=] for Friday. I love camping, but rain really messes me up because everything takes longer and there is mud everywhere! Oh, and we'll have to change the kids clothes more often because of course they'll get wet and cold. We might not even get the chance to ride our bikes in weather like this :(
    Did I put enough [{}=] ?
I should put more [SUN] to be positive...
    Sorry, just venting...

Dammit, Jim! I'm a doctor, not a weatherman!
Our problem is snow. Most in 15 years!

Camping in the rain is still more fun than being home on a sunny day.

We feel your pain, we get rain here all the time. [:(]At least you get to camp, we still have about a month and a half before I will de winterize our trailer and wake it up from the winter hibernation. Feel sorry for those on the East Coast who got hammered with snow....I think it will be summer before all that snow melts....We got lucky here, temps haven't got too cold and we did not get a lot of snow

Your complaint is one of the reasons we went to the darkside... I have to agree with WCC, at least you can go camping...

I will be out there with you. We are going to be out Sat-Mon. I know they call for better conditions, but with Florida, you never know. [:D]

Send the rain this way, please!

It's looking like we may have another serious fire season this spring and summer in our forests due to lack of rain and snow [:!]

Talking about fire seasons... Polk county (where we are going) has a fire ban :(
Yeah, we have an HTT [HY] and it's basically like a PUP when it comes to rain when taking down camp.
    badgamuss, where are you heading?

We are headed to Silver River. This is our first time there. We have been mostly up in GA visiting their state parks. All of them in FL have been booked all winter.

Awesome! Have a good time! It looks like you guys will be dry up there and the temps are going to drop into the 30s for you. We are going to Silver River in March... first time for us as well.

Come to think of it, since 2006 we have only canceled once because of rain-and the campground was over six hours away.
But if it's still raining when we get home, we put the trailer in the underground parking, open it up and run the heater to dry everything. ;)

Thanks! I don't know if this is helpful for someone, but my wife is sick with a cold or the flu... not sure what. However, she suggested trying to change the reservation for Friday - Sunday instead of Thursday - Saturday. I knew the place has been booked for months, but I still checked yesterday and lo and behold, there was one! I put it in my shopping cart and then called our friends that are tent camping with us on Thursday night to confirm if they were still coming. They said they have been looking forward to it, so I didn't make the reservation. This morning we get an email from them saying they aren't sure they should tent camp because it's going to be so wet, but the site is gone LOL. Anyways, the helpful part is that it was suggested by the reservations specialist that if we want to go Friday - Sunday, to just go Friday early and have them put us on the waiting list for Saturday night. If they have a cancellation, we have very high chances of getting the spot. Yes, we'd probably have to move sites, but it's an option. At this point, I'm just hoping my wife gets better so we can at least go camping!

Alright, so I ended up paying $10 and changing our reservations for Friday to Sunday. The rain should be there Friday during the day, but after that the chances of rain are only 20%.

Yup after camping in this weather, my DW gave me the ultimatum that we aren't camping in this type of weather again. So, when we head out in March, it better be warmer and dry!

It is an awesome park and you will like it there. It was cold though. Both night went below freezing but the days were perfect.
