Hi guys! I’ve been a member since forever, but haven’t been on the forum since 2014! I inherited my family’s 97’ Dutchman, My dad completely rebuilt the roof, and it’s still in great shape, but it’s huge, heavy, and takes a lot of effort to get set up and gas to tow. Due to those factors, we usually grab a tent instead. I like simple. fast forward to a couple days ago, I see this weird, tiny, simple vintage pop up on FB marketplace and just had to have it. Now I’m going to restore it, and back here to show off this groovy little camper and get ideas and help along the way. I used to live in Shreveport, LA, but moved 2.5 years ago to just East of Dallas, TX. I’m a nurse, my husband is from Brazil (where camping is pretty unheard of. He does not share the joy of camping...it’s confusing to him, frankly, but he’s a good sport!) He’s a commercial pilot and a professional skydiver and we own several skydiving drop zones around the country as well as a flight school. We have two kids, 14 and 12, boy and girl. They love camping. We have a dog named Bluegrass. He’s a big dumb Catahoula, and we love him. We love Dutch-oven cooking and kayaking when we camp. There are pictures of the vintage camper in the vintage thread.
