I tried to post this from my hospital bed but their WiFi was not very good.
Activities such as camping or fishing as well as other things I love doing has been a chore because of the constant pain. I made the decission to do something about it and have back surgery. Something I should have done 15 years ago. If this works, I will once again be able to enjoy the outdoors like I did in my younger years. I am so excited. Also, the meds I am on right now seem to add to my excitement. Not about the meds but being in such a great mood. Lol...
Just before leaving the hospital this morning, the Dr. put me on a 5 lb weight restriction for the next 5 weeks. Trout season and our first planned camping trip is set in 6 weeks from now. I will be in great shape by then according to the Dr. Of course with therapy.
I am so excited, I just have to share it with everybody. A pain free fishing and camping season will make me one very happy man.
Thanks for reading. I wish you all Great camping as well...

Best wishes on a good recovery. Do the PT or whatever so you can enjoy the outdoors and everything else. (That line between pushing enough to progress, but not so much that you regress can be hard to define.)

    Best wishes Skiball,
Good thing the 5 pound weight restriction will be lifted before you start pulling in those fish. [;)]

skiball, Best wishes on your recovery. 5 weeks is a piece of Cake after 15 years of pain!! I wish my Doc would tell me to do the surgery and in 5 weeks I'd be good as new. I'd go tomorrow for sure!!

Wishing you a speedy recovery!! What kind of procedure did they do on your back? I had a spinal fusion last July and have just been released for camping and boating, it was a long boring year! Lol. We actually sat ours up and slept in it last night. It's about 17 degrees! I'll be thinking about you and your recovery!

Same thing. Put new disks in and fused vertebrae together. It's a bit sore but the pain meds are helping. I'll stop taking them as soon as possible but for now. I'm taking them.
