Friday kicks off a 3 day weekend for much of the country...wherever you're going, whatever you're doing, please be safe, enjoy yourselves, & above all, take time to reflect this coming Monday on what it took, & still takes to preserve what we have...for those who know first hand the cost, may God bless & keep you, & as well for those who have family serving now...

So everyone who did are fake heroes? Kind of disrespectful for everyone who did come home.

I can home, I do not consider myself a hero, however Memorial day (not veterans day) is to remember the ones who gave their life for our freedom

I find this very wrong and a little offensive, There are several that did come home alive that live with PTSD that I consider heroes, Those that
saved the life of others that are still alive. I consider every Vietnam vet a hero because of the horrible welcome that they received when
they came home from that war. anyone that served during a war is a hero, Those that were on the battle lines are heroes. Those that lost friends
are heroes. Yes those that died in combat are heroes, but they didn't have to deal with the consequences after coming back, the pain of living through
the hell again and again. Those that came back changed forever. Those that came back to families that didn't understand the pain and suffering they
still continued to go through. Those that ended in divorce because a spouse couldn't understand the pain that they still had to work through. those
are the real heroes. The survivors of the aftermath of war.

You missed the point, MEMORIAL day is for remembrance of those that gave their all and did not come home . veterans day is for the ones that are serving and have served .

The word "heroes" means nothing. We should be remembering the actions taken not a label.

Yes, Memorial Day is to remember those fallen. However, some fallen that deserve to be remembered, did not fall ON the battlefield. They fell when they got home and their ghosts can sometimes be seen walking our streets.

This isn't something we should be arguing about.
