Removing Propane

I’ve been thinking of removing the propane tank/lines on our camper. A 1980 Starcraft Starmaster 1906. It currently only connects to the heater and the stove. I plan on removing the stove top from the camper as we will only cook outside. We tried the heater and it never did get warm. We will probably only camp when it’s warm outside anyways, and maybe purchase a small space heater if we did camp in the fall.

What do I need to know about removing the propane tank and lines? Any advice?

The tank you may want to keep if you use propane to cook outside the camper if only to have an easy way to transport the the propane.

Sounds like you should troubleshoot your furnace so you know you've always got heat even if you almost never use it. The work to remove it all is hardly worth the effort. As for the stove, is it a carry-out design? If it is, keep it so you can always have a stove to use, there are a lot of ways to make it useful outside away from your PUP. You can always build a tee-at the propane tank to allow a long-run high pressure line if you have high pressure LP stoves/grills/cook gear.

well that's odd - we love our furnace - its no trouble at all and such a treat on cold mornings, as we click on the thermostat above our bed, as we stay under the covers. We also love cooking inside - where its not cold !

We did toss the propane frig and replace it with an Engel electric cooler - much more reliable for us.

How do you cook outside? If you use propane keep the tank on the front just dosconect it and get a long line for What you cook with.

Many consider furnace and stovetop added value, so make sure you consider what it might do to your resale value / sell-ability.

X3 on disconnect and use it for outside cooking. I'd leave the lines in place.
