Anyone have any ideas or links on where to look for replacement pulleys for a 70's starcraft ?

Starcraft wants $10 each for them, and at the number of pulleys it has, I'm guessing I would have to spend around $160!

I probably don't need to replace ALL of them, but haven't found anything that was reasonably similar to work.

Someone suggested patio door rollers - but in my area, checking with Home Depot, Menards, and Farm & Fleet, everything I find is either too small or too big. Plus the originals are riveted in, so it would be difficult to replace just the wheel in each.

    Any suggestions?

On my Westlake, these pulleys were specialized, ie. they had different centres for rotation in order to adjust the cable tension. I don't know if Starcraft is the same but if it were me I would go with the correct replacement part. That's a lot of roof hanging there and I wouldn't want to be relying on the cheapest part I could find to hold it up.

Laura, check my pic page for the ones I used. They are just slightly oversize, but work great. It was not hard to get around the rivets, e-mail me and I will tell you how.

Still working on the lift system - we're delayed because of having to replace floor support for the lifter posts, first.

It appears that some repair work had been done on the front lifters at one time, and two of those 4 pulleys have been replaced with the newer metal starcraft pulley wheels.
However, the other pulleys don't look that bad; and all move well after cleaning and lubricating; so I've decided to NOT replace any of them at this time.

What I HAVE done, however, is to move the two worst pulleys on the back from the bottom channel to the middle channel location - where they will (hopefully) not have quite as much stress, and where they will be easier to see and monitor their condition. If one of them looks like it is wearing poorly, it will be easier to replace if it's in the middle section of post, instead of hidden behind a wall. There's one in particular that has some rust from sitting in a very wet, rotted corner - that may need to be replaced. later.

I did find some great ball-bearing roller wheels, and steel rivets that will work to replace the centers. I actually think they may be BETTER than the starcraft ones. But am not going to use them at this time. I may keep a couple, though, for my camper tool box in case of emergencies.

For now, we are trying to simply get the PUP 'able' to camp - not cosmetically perfect. We'll definately be putzing with it all summer. ;-)
