I was going to take a weekend trip up to Kennedy Meadows on the East side of the Sierra mountains this weekend. I went to the Kennedy Meadows reservation web page to see what the conditions were up there. The web page said the camp ground was open. It is a pretty hard climb up that mountain so I wanted to make sure it really was open before I drug my camper up there. There is a small general store just 1 miles from the camp ground entrance. They also have a web page. I gave them a call and they said the camp ground was definitely closed. There are barriers across the entrance and there was still a lot of snow on the road. I'm so glad I called to verify!

Would not have been a good time getting there and realizing the campground was closed. Everybody wants you to check the website for information these days, but sometimes it is just good actually talk to a person who "knows".
