Hello all, I am trying to look into booking for some 09 camping season dates. A few of our favorite parks have a few select sites we want to be sure and book, as they book for the whole season of weekends very early. ReserveAmerica says there is a 6 month maximum window, but then seems as though it can be farther ahead than that, when they say anything beyond 6 month has to wait 18 days to change it.. Doesn't this imply that indeed you can book farther than 6 months? Straight from RA:

Alerts and Important Information

To insure fairness for all MA customers, any reservation with departure dates outside the 6-month Maximum Window can not be changed or cancelled until 18 days after the reservation was made.

After reading this again, maybe this means if I was booking for a trip departing Dec 6 (hypothetically), which is over 6 months DEPARTURE date, I'd have to wait 18 days? We just want to be sure we can book some spots in May/June and July next season, Does this mean I'd have to wait until November, Dec, and January?

I can't be the only nut on here who has experienced booking a site the DAY it becomes available for booking!

Thanks in advance!

Kevin we always book a cabin at Mohawk Trail for MLK weekend in january. We book it on exactly the 6 month date to get it. Reserveamerica is sooo much fun isn't it?

Martha,
Oh okay, so its exactly 6 months from the day you want to book? Meaning if I wanted say July 15th, I'd have to book it on January 15th? I just want to be sure I have the hang of it, because there's only a few spots at some CGs which are ON the water. I don't NEED to be on the water, but if I CAN be on the water, why not, right?

Yeah thats what I meant.. at least I understand it now. Honestly, I spoke with RA, and the order taker I spoke with couldn't shed any light on the situation. She told me it all depended on when MA DCR got their act together and sent in their "inventory" of sites. If thats the case, what relevance is the 6 month policy? I guess there will be some exciting midnight times coming this fall/winter, when I'm attempting to book the prime sites at the SPs! Does anyone else do their reservations this way, or just take what they can get?
