It appears that we have unintentionally hijacked another thread so I thought it might be time to just start our own. My apologies to the Op of the other thread.
So for some background to new readers, I have been talking for a while about taking the family on a 2 week road trip from Toledo Ohio to Mt. Rushmore, and many points in between in July of 2015. Much to my surprise, some of my Midwest rally pals have jumped on board and expressed interest in joining us on a convoy across the country. I think this seems like an awesome time!
That said, we are not talking about a formal rally, I just don't have the time or patience to coordinate something like that during a 2 week vacation. It's just a family vacation shared with camping buddies interested in joining us on our adventure.
One of the reasons for this particular thread is to provide those already discussing, as well as anyone interested in joining the convoy (or discussion), a convenient place to discuss things as a group. However, another reason for it to be put out here publicly is for others that have done similar trips to give us pointers and ideas on places to stop along the way, things to see, and just general tips on making the trip a success and not a disaster.
Ok, go!
