Good luck getting in to SW WI parks that time of year, that's where all the flatlanders go. Saw a note elsewhere on the Portal about Winnebago County forest preserves if you want to camp near Rockford.

Mr. Roo said the last 2 weeks, so I've been playing with July 18-Aug 1. I don't think he can put in for time off this far in advance, but know that time of year usually has a high rate of success of being approved.
