Would any members who have info on other vehicles meeting the SAE, please post here the vehicle max SAE weight and manufacturers link showing the SAE weight?
I'm doing 2015 Full size 1/2 ton pickups first and will start SUV's CUV's,etc at a later time.
    Thank you for your help.

I know all of toyota's autos, trucks and suv's have published the tow numbers using the the standard since somewhere around 2010.

There is a frontal area defined. It's in the standard. I think it's 4 feet by 8 feet for the test. I assume Ford gives you infor how to adjust the numbers for larger frontal areas.

    Art,
Do you have access to the standard on the SAE website?
I cannot get a copy from them without paying $72.

Ford's rating on vehicles has always included frontal area limitations.
Ford has always been concerned with not just the weight, but the vehicle footprint to handle safely large trailers.
It's very different given a 7,000 lb towing rating hauling a boat vs hauling a travel trailer.
A smaller TV may have the horsepower/torque to haul a given weight, but not the footprint to safely handle a high profile trailer.
It does not seem to me that SAE considers it in their standard. (Not the just the 8x8 wall behind you, but whether on not the TV can safely handle the TT or HTT)..

That's why it's important for all auto companies to provide frontal area limitations in a towing guide, not separately in an ownerrs manual, but in a towing guide available before purchase.
To my knowledge, only three companies publish frontal area limitations. Ford, GM (in a towing guide) and Fiat Chrysler (in the owners manual)....

Also interesting is how much Ford's rating went up using the SAE standard.
Critics thought it would go down.

Curious will your future charts include not only maximum weight and any frontal limits (which is a SAE requirement) but also the model such as 2-door, double cab, crew cab , short box, standard box, long box with all cab configurations; plus different engines and axle gearing with each engine, box, body configuration? (I'm used GM naming conventions since I am familiar with them, other companies use different names but mean the same basic configuration)
