Is anyone using the new cables in place of chains?

My TrailManor came with braided cable instead of chains. It works quite well.

I am thinking cables with a loop with a cable tie. It will be self adjusting and not drag creating sparks and possibly fires on the side of the road (problem here in Texas). When you turn it will tighten and since it has a loop when you exit the the turn the aviator cable will spring back into it's look thereby going "straight". In the event that the trailer comes loose and the cables have to be "used" the cable tie will snap and not cut the cable like a washer. does all of this make sense?

I have them on my boat trailer and they're great. I ordered some for my popup yesterday.

They are especially good if you tow with different vehicles with different attachment point locations for the safety chains because you just hook them up and go without having to be concerned with the length.
