A National Park Service CG on the Schoodic Peninsula part of Acadia NP. This is a newer and separate part of Acadia with the CG also being very new. Prices were quite reasonable ($40/night). We were there from July 1 to July 5.

We absolutely loved this campground and it's location. The spots are spacious, surrounded by trees, and have water/electric. It was a short walk to the ranger station for info on hikes, talks, and shuttles that take you around the peninsula. The only con of the CG itself is that the bathhouses have no showers.

It's about an hour drive to the main part of Acadia & Bar Harbor. We spent one day there and the rest of our time in the much less crowded Schoodic part of the park. We also took a fireworks cruise out of Winter Harbor (5 mins) to see the July 4 show at BH.

A short hike to the water
